PlanChange: Tim Wanyonyi will not deputize Igathe

The Coalition-One Kenya Coalition has officially launched its political structure in Nairobi County ahead of the August 9 general election.

Announcing the new chapter on Friday, Resolution candidate Raila Odinga said Jubilee’s Polycarp Igathe would fly the governorship flag.

He will be replaced by former Kibwezi MP Philip Kaloki of the Wiper Democratic Movement led by Kalonzo Musyoka.

ODM Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna received a senate ticket while candidate Esther Passaris waved the flag of the women’s representative.

Raila announced that Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi has officially resigned from his bid to become governor and will defend his parliamentary seat.

KNCCI chairman Richard Ngatia has also resigned from the race and will be appointed as Special Envoy to President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Commerce.

“The Nairobi gubernatorial candidate is Polycarp Igathe and will be Professor Philip Kaloki’s deputy. The Senate candidate is ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna and the candidate representing women will be Esther Passaris,” Raila said.
