Reports have surfaced of an accident involving a plane carrying 60 passengers from Kenya at Entebbe airport in Uganda.
He said the plane carrying a total of 60 passengers crashed shortly after leaving Nairobi, but no injuries were reported.
Twenty of the 60 passengers were said to be guests at the birthday party for President Yoweri Museveni’s son, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba.
A few days ago General Muhoozi met with President Uhuru Kenyatta and even invited Uhuru to his birthday party. In his usual jokes, Muhoozi began by making a joke that he thinks Uhuru’s great-grandfather may have been king in Uganda a long time ago.
“Uganda and Kenya are linked to blood ties. I spoke to my dear brother H.E. Uhuru Kenyatta this morning. I love him very much, I will always be close to him. I hope he will attend the celebrations,” Muhoozi said in a tweet on April 18.
It is the second time this month for Uganda that it has survived an air crash that almost disappeared as in recent days another plane almost caused a disaster when it slipped from the runway as it took off. It was a flight en route to Kigali Rwanda from Entebbe airport.
