Detectives in Nairobi have launched an investigation to put together a shooting case of a middle-aged man in the Mirema area on Monday.
According to CCTV footage released Monday, a man wearing a hat and jacket, who appears to be a civilian, was seen approaching the victim’s car and pulling out what looked like a gun before shooting the victim and killing him instantly.
The attacker then jumped into a waiting vehicle that had blocked the victim’s path before fleeing.
According to the report, the victim, who was identified as Samuel Mugota, had just come out to drop off his girlfriend before the incident.
Kasarani Sub-County Commander Peter Mwanzo said police had launched a manhunt for the suspects saying they had managed to find the vehicle number they were following.
“We were able to identify the four bullets that struck the victim on the spot,” Mwanzo said.
According to Genesis, nothing was stolen from the victim.
It is not yet clear why the victim was killed, but it is believed that his murder may have been based on an agreement that was not valid when investigating items found in the person.
