Polycarp Igathe named as the best jubilee candidate to run for Nairobi Governor seat.

According to sources who spoke to the Media, Igathe could be identified as Camp Resident United One Kenya on Thursday.

“Jubilee has checked all the candidates and decided that Igathe is the best and the party will now ask the affiliate parties to support him,” said one of Jubilee’s top officials who asked not to be named.

This comes just hours after ODM candidate Tim Wanyonyi assured his supporters that he would run in August, noting that the party was in talks over who would be the county leader.

It is hoped that the Jubilee approval for Igathe may lead to divisions in the Declaration camp due to the extremism that has been held by some activists.

Leaders focusing on the Jubilee ticket are the current Governor Anne Kananu, businessman Agnes Kagure and also Richard Ngatia.

It has been claimed that Kagure will join Kagure, although reports have not been confirmed, while Philip Kaloki of Wiper will join Ngatia, both with the aim of wrestling Johnson Sakaja of UDA.
