Prince Philip, husband of Queen Elizabeth dies.

The British royal family has announced the death of prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh and Queen Elizabeth’s husband. He was 99 years old.

“His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle,” the royal family announced on Friday with its official Twitter handle.

The former outspoken military commander dedicated her entire life as queen to the charity- but she was best known for her many gaffes , many of whom were outraged.

He was admitted to hospital to hospital on February 16, 2021, and returned home a month later for treatment of a pre-existing heart condition and infection.

Philip who has been with Queen for almost eighty years , retired from public service in 2017 at the age of 96.

His death comes just a few months before his birthday in June- a ceremony often marked in Britain with a congratulatory message from the Queen, now Britain’s longest-serving King
