Raila appoints Tuju as Azimio’s executive Director
ODM leader Raila Odinga has appointed former cabinet secretary Raphael Tuju as executive director of the Azimio la Umoja movement.
“The appointment, which Mr. Tuju has accepted, begins immediately,” read a statement from Raila spokesman Dennis Onyango released on Tuesday.
He said Tuju was considered a fully qualified communicator and experienced in managing public affairs.

“The training communications specialist, Hon. Tuju has decades of experience in politics and government, having served as a Member of Parliament, Minister of the Cabinet and Secretary General of the Jubilee Party.”
As Executive Director, Tuju will coordinate all the members of the Declaration and lead strategic and program teams that will work to ensure the union’s victory in the August 9 elections.
The appointment comes just two months after Tuju announced his resignation from the ruling party’s secretary general.
