At least one soldier was killed and three others were injured in a car bombing on Saturday.
State television reported that the blast targeted a convoy of Puntland State Security Minister Abdisamad Galan near the village of Bali Dhidin in Bari province just outside Bosaso, northeast of the province. Somalia.
The minister survived the attack but some vehicles in his convoy were damaged.
The wounded soldiers were taken to the hospital while the convoy then continued its journey.
There were no immediate comments from Puntland officials, but al-Shabab, who fought to overthrow the government, claimed responsibility for the recent attack.
The militant group said its two explosions hit a minister’s convoy, killing one soldier and wounding three others.
The latest incident comes after Puntland security forces recently destroyed terrorist facilities in the area.
