Romans Chapter 1: Set Apart for Noble purpose.
The book of Romans is a letter of Paul to the Romans. And today I would love us to look at verse 1 of the book of Romans.
Rom 1:1 Paul, a loving servant of the Annointed one, Jesus. He called me to be his apostle and set me apart with a mission to reveal God’s wonderful gospel.
Paul was called to be an apostle but was set apart for a specific mission which was to make the wonderful gospel known. Verse 4 Jesus himself was also set apart for a specific mission which is to display the triumphant power supplied by the spirit of Holliness [set apart to be the Messiah].

There is a big difference between been called to be a believer and a follower of Christ and being set apart to fulfill a certain specific mission in our lives. Hence it calls for us to seek the Kingdom of God first for Him to actualize the pre-destined plan and purpose for our lives.
Look at the 12discples of Jesus all of the were followers of Jesus but only one was called and set apart who is Peter.
Luke 5:10 and so also were James and John, sons of Zeb’edee, who were partners with Simon[Peter]. And Jesus said to Simon Peter ” Do not be afraid: henceforth you will be catching men.”
Peter was the only disciple whom Jesus specified his purpose of following Him, Peter set apart to be fisher of men. That’s why when Jesus had ascended and the disciples were filled with the Holyspirit it was Peter who preached and 3000 men gave their lives to Christ. The number that got saved was bigger than that received Christ while Jesus was on earth.
When we align ourselves with the purpose that God created us for there is always a breakthrough and no much struggle in fulfilling the purpose.
Did Peter easily get to the purpose he was called for? NO. Remember he had even denied Jesus when times got tough during the arrest and crucifixion of Jesus. Stay alert and sober as you wait for the next episode of how to get/align yourself to God’s plan and purpose for our lives.
In conclusion , we can’t function in our purpose if we are yet to be followers of Christ, if we are yet to believe and surrender our lives to Him. Today is a new golden opportunity given to receive Him as God in our lives before the day of judgement comes and we won’t be having a chance to repent. My beloved reader I would urge to say this prayer to receive Christ and get yourself a church that preaches the true gospel:
I [your name], recognize that I am a sinner, and in your word you say we come and reason out with You and You will wash our sins as white as snow, Lord I’m pleading for your mercy, forgive me and rewrite my name back in the book of the living. In Jesus Name, Amen.
In heaven there’s celebration because you have given your life to Him. My beloved you are now a new creature and a born again Christian, live for Christ from now on , Amen.
