Sakaja’s Uganda degree revoked by CUE
The University Education Commission has revoked the recognition of Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja’s degree from Team University in Uganda.
A letter from the Commission dated June 14, 2022 indicates that it has received important information regarding the authenticity of the First Degree in Science in Management.
The commission says the diploma will be examined further to confirm its validity.

“Therefore, in accordance with the CUE recognition procedures, we are seeking the recognition of your degree from the aforementioned university,” said CUE President Chacha Nyaigoti Chacha.
The commission had written to the senator on June 6 to confirm the recognition of the certificate.
The validity of Sakaja’s diploma from Team University is being questioned by four people who claim it was played.
The case came to light shortly after Sakaja was approved by the IEBC on June 7 to run for Nairobi governor for the UDA ticket.
One of the complainants, Dennis Wahome, claims in an affidavit to the IEBC that Sakaja never studied or graduated from Team University.
He claimed that a Bachelor of Science degree in Management from Team University was published on May 29, 2022.
Wahome went on to say that Sakaja never graduated from university on October 21, 2016, as he claimed as his name is not on the list of university graduates.
In fact, he claimed, the Team University dropped out of the Degree in Science in Management program in 2015, one year before graduating from Sakaja claims.
The senator, however, maintained that his university degrees were valid.
The case is before the IEBC Dispute Resolution Committee whose decision is expected at any time.
