SEALED: Tim Wanyonyi to be Igathe’s running mate
Former Deputy Governor Polycarp Igathe will fly the flag of the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Kenya Coalition Party in the county governorship race, with Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi as his running mate.
President Kenyatta and Declaration presidential candidate Raila Odinga agreed on Thursday on how the coalition would handle elections in Nairobi after several hours of talks amid a standoff that threatened to disrupt the fledgling coalition.
In an agreement to be announced at the White House today, Kalonzo Musyoka’s Wiper Party, who ran for former Kibwezi MP Philip Kaloki as a running mate, will hold the post of Speaker of the County Assembly.

For Senate and Representative seats, both parties agreed to field their candidates. Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) General Secretary Edwin Sifuna and Jubilee Commander Maina are vying for the Senate seat.
Mr Wanyonyi is one of four candidates for the seat, including the head of the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry Richard Ngatia, Governor Ann Kananu and businessman Agnes Kagure.
