Shaffie Weru fights back; demands for 21Million from Radio Africa.
Radio presenter Shaffie Weru has taken a legal step to demand for 21,157,500 Kenyan shillings from Radio Shillings from Radio Africa group which recently fired him for alleged inappropriate and insensitive comments.
According to a letter which has been written by MMA advocates, he had diligently served them under the Radio Africa Group for 18 years and was earning a salary of Kshs. 682,500, not including other allowances.
It further states that he first knew of termination of his contract through a letter which was circulating on social media, before finally receiving the same from Homeboyz Radio through his WhatsApp.
Shaffie who was working as the Program Controller at Homeboyz Radio, was fired alongside DJ Joe Mfalme and Neville.
His lawyers are seeking damages as follows;
one month salary Kshs. 682,500
12 month’s salary for unfair termination Kshs. 8,190,000
Gratuity[one month for every year of service] Kshs. 12,285,000
Totaling to Kshs. 21,157,500
