Six family members burnt to death in suspected arson attack

Six members of the same family lost their lives on Sunday morning, April 10, in a suspected arson attack due to a dispute with relatives.

The six people included a grandmother, her three children and two grandchildren who were inside the house when the incident happened.

Witnesses say the doors were locked from the outside when the incident took place in Nguthuru village in Kandara sub-county, Murang’a county.

A Citizen television report reveals that her sister has been arrested in connection with the arson attack which is said to have been caused by family disputes.

The main suspect in the attack is said to have left the house a few days before the house burned down.

By the time this story was published, police had taken and surrounded the crash site that showed the roof of a burning house.

Police have opened an investigation into the incident and are still holding the suspect at Kabati police station.
