Stop scaring learners: CS Magoha warns Governor Nyong’o
Education Minister George Magoha has rejected calls for the relocation of Kisumu Boys ‘High School and Kisumu Girls’ High School.
Speaking in Kisumu County on Saturday, May 7, Magoha said schools would not be relocated despite the recommendation of Governor Anyang ‘Nyong’o.
The minister assured students, parents and school teachers that the government would not evict them from the city center as the governor had suggested.

Governor Nyong’o had suggested that Kisumu Boys and Kisumu Girls’ schools be further away from the bustling city center, adding that the schools did not add any economic value despite being located on mainland land.
He defended his plan to relocate the two national schools from the CBD, noting that the current location of the two institutions was not in line with the plan to turn the lake city into a commercial center.
According to the Governor, the two schools are located on the mainland within the Kisumu CBD without adding economic value to its plan to make Kisumu a profitable organization.
