Students awarded 15M after failure to secure Jobs with degree.

The alumni were admitted to engineering courses by the University of Nairobi, but graduated from TUK against their aspirations.

They said they could not find work because TUK engineering courses are not recognized by EBK.
The Supreme Court awarded 15 million shillings to 75 alumni for failing to find employment using an engineering degree issued by the Technical University of Kenya (TUK), which is not recognized by the Kenya Engineers Board (EBK).

The alumni were admitted to engineering courses by the University of Nairobi (UoN), but graduated from TUK against their aspirations. Students were admitted between 2009 and 2011, when Kenya Polytechnic (which later became TUK) was a UoN university.

They said they could not find work because TUK engineering courses are not recognized by EBK.
