Tangatanga protests the arrest of Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria
Yesterday Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria was arrested alongside his Juja candidate while holding a meeting close to 60 people . The arrest took place in a popular hotel in the region.
Kuria who has fielded Koimbori as a candidate in the Juja parliamentary by-election , alerted his followers and supporters minutes after his arrest on his social media platforms.
The police said the arrest was done because the MP and his allies had violated the government protocols on Covid-19. They said that the meeting was taking place past curfew hours.
However, according to blogger Dennis Itumbi who took to his twitter handle immediately after the arrest yesterday, said that the arrest was a political move by the government to cow Kuria from continuing wit his campaign for Koimbori. Itumbi alleged that Koimbori was a force to reckon in Juja where thousands preferred him more than the others.
Murang’a Senator Irungu Kang’ata today also offered to represent Moses Kuria pro bono in court of law. Irungu was devastated by the arrest that he confirmed today that Moses Kuria spent the night in the cold police cell.
He posted; I hear Moses Kuria has been arrested for fronting a candidate in Juja. I hear his candidate is strong. Don’t worry bro, I am coming to court to offer pro bono services . Since time immemorial, good political things are obtained by” weeping, wailing, mourning and gnashing of teeth.
