Thika: unknown man storms into a military camp and steals guns as soldiers take a shower.
Police in Thika, Kiambu are searching for an unidentified man who stormed a military camp and stole a gun.
The incident took place at the Twelve Engineer Battalion Thika Barracks camp on Monday, April 25 at around 6pm.
According to a police statement, the man went to the waiting area and broke the glass by stealing an AK 47 rifle containing a 30-round magazine.

The incident was reported by two officers, John Kibaki and Alvin Nyasio, who were in the camp.
Both men told investigators the incident happened when they went to bathe a few yards away, leaving the facility empty.
“The officer was working with four other people at the center and at the time of the incident no one was at the station as they had gone to take a shower in a building about 400 meters from the station,” the report read in part.
The weapon was linked to officer Kenneth Mbae.
Also stolen was a black TECNO SPARK phone that did not have a SIM card and belonged to another officer named Kinyua.
