The Prosecutor’s Office of the Judicial Center for Combating Terrorism in Tunisia has approved the detention for five more days of the political activist Ali Al Lafi, who was arrested on March 5 on suspicion of fraud and money laundering and is now suspected of having documents related to terrorism.
During a search of the home of Ali Al Lafi, who works as a political analyst and was an adviser to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, agents from the Anti-Terrorism Unit of the National Guard reportedly found documents linking him to terrorist groups, reports ‘Mosaïque FM’. .
Although the initial arrest was based on possible fraud charges, this new discovery at his home led to the case being referred to the Terrorism Links Investigation Unit, which for its investigation Ali Al Lafi’s detention was extended for another five days.

Among the documents is a file related to the monitoring and surveillance of terrorist groups in the country, as well as the actual documents issued by the security agencies related to weapons, as reported by the Head of the Tunisian Security and Citizenship Agency, Issam.
