Twitter removes over 240 Kenyan accounts

The largest social media company Twitter has deleted more than 240 Kenyan accounts after an international report revealed that some Kenyan influencers have been used to spread misinformation about reproductive health and women’s rights in the country.

The campaign resulted in more than 20,000 tweets being added to more than 240 accounts that have been removed in violation of platform policies.

The report says nations like Kenya are being targeted by billions of companies to spread their ideology.

“These organizations see Kenya and other southern nations as new borders to strengthen and propagate their ideology,” the report reads.
