United Democratic Alliance (UDA) director of communications Wanjohi Githae announced that the party’s political strategist Dennis Itumbi had been released from hospital.

The news was also confirmed by his brother strategist David Itumbi, who noted that Dennis was on his way to recovery.

He added that Itumbi, a close associate of Vice President William Ruto, had just left the intensive care unit (ICU) and was recovering well.

Itumbi’s brother then shared a video showing the former digital director at the White House kicking the baby steps with the help of nurses. In addition, Itumbi still had plaster on his right arm as failing to walk alone represented a man who was still in pain.

“Thank God my brother Dennis Itumbi has made great progress, 24 hours after leaving the ICU he was walking on his own feet although he needed help, now it is a way to recover, God willing to be released. get out of the hospital as soon as possible, “David said.

While in hospital, Itumbi had warned agents of the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) to refrain from unsolicited visits.

Through his lawyer, Kamotho Njenga, Itumbi claimed that the officers had received instructions from the top office asking him to sign undisclosed documents.

“Officials said they indicated that they had received instructions from the highest office to suspend the treatment process, so that our client could sign the amazing documents. Nothing could be more complicated,” the lawyer said.

Itumbi, who disappeared on December 23, 2021, was later found with serious injuries, signifying torture by his captors.

Pictures of the strategist at the hospital have been circulated with many Kenyans condemning those responsible for the incident and calling for justice.
