A riot broke out at Nyayo Stadium, after former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s bodyguards were brutally assaulted by soldiers after they tried to march on the former Prime Minister to the elite.
According to a clip circulated by Sambazanews, the former prime minister was accompanied by his bodyguard when the incident took place.
The incident at Nyayo Stadium has been largely controlled by the military as Kenya’s third President Mwai Kibaki is given a national funeral.
In the region, military officials assured Raila’s bodyguards that he was safe and that they did not need to accompany him.

The shocking events come as the country anticipates more than 10 heads of state as the country celebrates the life of the late President Kibaki.
After today’s ceremony, Mwai Kibaki’s body will be. It will be transported by road tomorrow to Othoya Nyeri County for its state-sponsored funeral as well.
