We don’t want someone like Ruto: Junet Mohammed defends decision to vet Raila’s running mate.

Azimio la Umoja Resolution Kenya’s secretary general Junet Mohamed has defended the decision to nominate Raila Odinga’s vice-presidential candidate ahead of the August general election.

On Tuesday, May 3, Junet said the exercise, which begins on Wednesday, May 4, aims to ensure Raila does not end up with a deputy like deputy William Ruto.

He spoke to the politician about the cold relationship between Vice President William Ruto and President Kenyatta.

“The guiding principle in recognizing the co-candidate of the Declaration presidency is this: We do not want a vice president like William Ruto,” Junet said.

Resolution The Union One Kenya Kenya has convened a seven-member team to advise Raila in selecting a suitable candidate.
