Who is on the commentary team for Qatar 2022

The 2022 FIFA World Cup will undoubtedly bring more highlights. From goals to glory, these events call for the best commentators to step in.

SBS will provide coverage of the 2022 World Cup to fans in Australia and have locked in talented callers for the tournament.

Who provides commentary on World Cup matches for SBS in Australia?
SBS has confirmed that Martin Tyler and David Basheer will be their main commentators for the 2022 World Cup.

Arguably the best football commentator in the world, Tyler is a legendary voice in the game having called Premier League games for many years.

Basheer, meanwhile, has commented on SBS since 1995 and has been their chief commentator in the last three World Cups.

Both commentators will call the match on location in Qatar.

What match will Martin Tyler commentate on?
Tyler is set to call every major match at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

SBS has confirmed that the Englishman will comment on the first and last matches of the tournament.

There is also a possibility that he will call England matches due to his experience and knowledge of these players.

Who is commenting on Socceroos World Cup matches?
David Basheer will call all Australian games from Qatar.

The 56-year-old has spent most of his career covering club football for SBS, but has also commented briefly on A-League Men’s games for Fox Sports.

Why is Simon Hill not commenting on the 2022 World Cup?
Simon Hill is recognized as the voice of Australian football rules but will not comment on the 2022 World Cup matches.

The 55-year-old called for the Socceroos in the 2006 tournament and also their play-off win over Uruguay in 2005.

Hill is currently under contract with Network 10 and Paramount+ where he calls A-League Men games and other games to which they have the rights.

The veteran pundit called Socceroos matches during their World Cup qualifying campaign, with Network 10 enjoying the rights to those matches but not the World Cup itself.
