“You either pay the fee or defer,” Machakos University to students.

Machakos University has today sent a serious message to it’s students telling those who won’t manage to pay fee by 4th June 2021 should defer.

The message was attached to a memo which was sent to all students informing them of the opening dates for 2020/2021 academic year. This is after staying at home for a long period which was caused by the pandemic.

On the memo , students were charged to be ready to open for the first semester which will commence on 3rd May 2021. The students closed for a forced holiday which was caused by the suspension of all physical learning in efforts to cab Covid-19.

The learning will take place virtually as one of the ways of reducing the rate of spread of coronavirus.

The students are therefore expected to register on the learners management system[LMS] to enable them to study online.

Is this really fair? While some parents have also lost their jobs due to Covid/
